Little Ethiopia Celebrates Black History Month ( Its 13th Anniversary ) on February 19, 2017 in D.C.

Washington DC ( Little Ethiopia ) -An important celebration of African-American History and Achievements in the United States that is embraced and celebrated by Little Ethiopia DC will be held on Monday,February 19, 2017 at Fraser Mansion, DuPont Circle in Washington DC. Little Ethiopia DC ( formerly Ethiopian-American Constituency Foundation) began the celebration in collaboration with the iconic founder of the African Heritage Dancers and Drummers, the Honorable Baba Melvin Deal in February 2005 under the theme "Celebrating Black History Month - Quest for Dignity, Liberty & Unity". Since 2005, it is being celebrated in different locations in the Capital City of America ( the Sister- City of Ethiopia, Addis Ababa ) except in 2015 & 2016 where Brentwood, in Prince George 's county was added with the DC celebration.

This year, on President's Day, it will be its 13th Annual Afro-American and Ethiopian Heritage & Unity Celebration that coincided with the first Addis Ababa Massacre of February 19, 1937 ( YEKATIT 12 ) where an Italian fascist general Rodolfo Graziani ordered the massacre of over 30,000 innocent Ethiopians after an attempt to assassinate the fasciist viceroy Benito Mussolini failed.
