Rally To Support The New Prime Minister of Ethiopia In Washington DC On Monday

Washington DC ( Little Ethiopia )-The sister city of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia hosts a rally by the Ethiopians in the Diaspora infront of the State Department in District of Columbia in support of the new Ethiopian Prime Minister, Dr. Abiy Ahmed on Monday, June 25, 2018 according to a reliable source from Los Angeles, California. 

She told this publisher that a committee has been established to organize a support rally in the Capital City of the United States. The Washington  region is home to the largest concentration of Ethiopians outside of Africa . 

Ahmed with a mixed ethnic and religious background was installed to power just two months ago and since then has taken such great and drastic steps to unify the country that was almost at the verge of disintegration due to ethnic conflicts. His  rise to power came  after a turbulent three years for Ethiopia, including large-scale anti-government protests, He is a 42 year old Oromo leader from the Oromo People’s Democratic Organization (OPDO) which is a coalition of the four ethnically-based constituent parties.

One of his landmark decisions included of  ending  a six-month state of emergency two months early easing tensions in the country and reached out to leaders of neighboring countries to establish solidarity and working relationship including with Eritrea which is an arch enemy of Ethiopia. He released political prisoners, unblocked over 250 webpages and obtained the release of Ethiopians detained outside of the country. Supporters believe he is in the right direction to lead the second most populous nation in Africa with over 100 million people.
